A drone is an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) operated via radio frequency. At first glance, it’s simply a hovering camera, however its features are continuously diversified. It creates new opportunities for defense and intelligence sectors, agriculture, search and rescue operations, logistics and aerial photography. A drone is operated using special radars. Drone flight time depends on the weight and battery capacity of the device, while covered distance depends on radio signal quality. A drone may have an inbuilt GPS, which allows it to remain in one place as well as automatically return to the point of departure. A drone may have a remote control, return-to-home (RTH) and object tracking features. Remote control may also be used to operate several drones.
Counter-drone radar is a device that detects and demobilizes a drone. It prevents unauthorized drone operation in restricted areas. A special system allows for airspace monitoring, radio frequency suppression, aircraft detection, identification and demobilization, operation control or object destruction by using a laser system.
