- Precooling
The server room location is expected to meet a number of requirements since its infrastructure is meant to have high security standards. The Precooling System protects IT equipment from overheating. Cooling is carried out using special air conditioning systems, cool and warm flow separation is implemented, and proportional regulation of the indoor ventilation and the compressor is enabled. Air conditioners are equipped with a humidity sensor in order to maintain the desired temperature and humidity levels in the server rooms.
- Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS)
An Uninterruptible Power Supply (or an Emergency Power System) enables the server to continue operating consistently in case of a power outage. The server room’s electric power supply is provided by the UPS and electric distribution system. Uninterrupted supply is ensured by parallel-redundant UPS devices and generators. Each server cabinet is equipped with two individual power supplies to make sure that hardware runs smoothly. The server cabinets are protected from fire and water impact as well from unauthorized access.
- Raised Floor System
The server room is equipped with all the necessary security systems as well as server rack cabinets. Electrical wiring and other communication are often installed under the fire-resistant raised floor to boost energy efficiency and simplify the infrastructure arrangement process. The server room flooring consists of steel framing for weight distribution and the floor surface. The Raised Floor System has the following advantages: it cuts energy costs for the air flow beneath the floor, hides and facilitates access to mechanical and electrical wiring, communication modifications no longer require additional renovation and leave more space in the room.
- Server Room Fire Alarm System and Monitoring
A server room is protected using the Fire Safety System. Fire detection is activated by the Aspirating Smoke Detection System, whereas Automatic Gaseous Fire Suppression System is fully adapted to server room features. All of the above is performed without human intervention but can be done manually. The extinguishing agent is electrically impermeable, leaves no dust particles behind, is safe for equipment and low in toxicity. Its quantity is determined by the room volume.
The server room security is provided by the Permanent Monitoring Systems, including climate control, access control and intrusion detection as well as 24/7 video surveillance. The central monitoring function entails an integrated system which enables monitoring of all the key performance parameters (KPP), self-checking and reporting in case of any malfunction.
